Week #22 (2/22/21 - 2/26/21):
This week, I began prioritizing what I need to do in ISM moving forward. Through my research assessment and product proposal, I was able to make my product idea more interesting than before, and I was able to create a timeline of events to ensure success. I began looking at the LEED website to identify which programs Centennial High School would benefit from. I identified various LEED programs, but the Operations and Management rating system for schools was the most relevant. Subsequently, I downloaded the scorecard, a sheet that outlines the various categories, points, and performance indicators for the certification, to research each topic in depth. I focused on water management this week and identified strategies to passively and actively conserve water and improve its efficiency in everyday usage. When I thought about the scorecard, I realized it could be used as a framework for my LEED game. Additionally, I thought about how the LEED game could include a score chart of each of the categories listed on the LEED chart. This spurred some great ideas, which led me to write up my proposal and create a timeline of events for the rest of the year. This week I hope to get in contact with Centennial High School’s campus architect and send out a school survey to get an idea of how students think of sustainability. Additionally, I plan on researching another category of the LEED scorecard to progress my project and meet with Ms.Markham, an architect at Stantec. Here is a picture of my week!
