Kickstarting The Project!

Week #9 (10/26/20 - 10/30/20):

After last week’s in depth thinking regarding my original work—which I decided to primarily focus on sustainable and affordable construction alternatives—I was able to gain a better understanding of which direction I want to go with my research. I reached out to my school’s librarian as well as one of my past interviewees for article and journal recommendations to learn more about sustainable alternatives. They were able to help me find a handful of articles directly related to my project. Additionally, I was able to get peer feedback on my digital portfolio as well as give my feedback on my peers’ portfolios. This helped me view my website through a different lens as well as learn from others’ organization and structure of their websites. This week, I reached out to many professionals and got many responses back. I was able to schedule meetings with them next week and they even recommended me to other professionals that I may find helpful. Looking ahead to next week, I have a research presentation that showcases my learning so far. This presentation will showcase where I am headed with my work as well as what I have already accomplished. I look forward to it, however, I am also quite nervous to be honest. With proper planning, I will be able to showcase my learning throughout the primary and secondary sources I have encountered and taken note of. Next week, I hope to start logging more hours in my original work log, refine my presentation and speech, and finally, start planning the important information that must be displayed on my original work presentation due in November. Here is a picture that represents my week!
