New Year’s Re-Solution

Week #15 (12/21/20 - 1/01/21):

My priority during this break was to continue to reach out to professionals in my field because I had not settled on a mentor quite yet. Every day, for about one week, I decided to contact at least three people. Unfortunately, no one actually got back to me. Some accepted requests, but there were no confirmations: this may be because it was the holiday season. To maximize my efforts, I also reached out to my previous interviewee to see if they could assist me in connecting with a mentor. Luckily, I did receive a positive response, and I hope I will be able to connect with a mentor through them. During the weeks of the holiday break, I was able to self-reflect, analyze what I have done in the year, what I have learned, and where I have room to grow. In terms of self-reflection, I was able to come up with ways to improve my work this semester. I want to be able to prepare ahead of time as much as possible to better the quality of my work, look into more creative ways of presentation, and spend more time connecting with professionals. I also took the time to look at my old assessments and topic proposal to see how far I have come when I first started. I saw a drastic growth in my ability to write and convey ideas. At the beginning of the year, I was overwhelmed with the workload, but now I have stretched beyond those boundaries and ready for a new challenge. This year will be my year of growth, self-fulfillment, and contentment, and I couldn’t be more overjoyed to get started. Here is a picture to represent how I hope 2021 will look like for me.
