Persevering Through Setbacks Pt.2

Week #19 (1/25/21 - 1/29/21): Persevering Through Setbacks Pt.2

This week is the continuation of the last: I am continuing to push through the setbacks and continue to reach out to different people. I talked to one of my very first interviewees, Ms.Jaeschke, and she advised me to look for LEED officials in my area and advised me to meet with them bi-weekly to reduce the time commitment. I really appreciate Ms.Jaeschke for her advice and her support. I also had the opportunity to speak with Bailey Helen, a campus architect at the University of North Texas. I feel like she is directly related to my future project plans and she had great advice on how to tackle various issues that I am facing regarding LEED certification. It was such a pleasure talking to Ms.Bailey and to be able to talk with an architect making a direct impact in my area. Ms.Bailey inspired my ideas for my final project, which was initially to pre-certify Centennial High Schools using LEED standards. Now, I am thinking about creating an educational campaign about sustainable building practices, occupancy, and LEED certification for students to learn about. My ultimate goal would be to convince the principal to consider LEED certification for the Centennial campus. Here is a picture that represents my week of continued persistence in finding a mentor!
