Reaching The Finish Line

Week #27 (4/5/21 - 4/9/21):

During this week, I spent the majority of my time on my product to ensure I finish by April 14th. I purchased materials, put together the base part, painted the base product, and created the base for all cards involved in the project.

I faced difficulty putting my board game together because I was trying to figure out innovative ways to make the board fold in a way that is aesthetically pleasing and functional. Like they say, inspiration strikes in times of stress (or something like that). I was able to cut the edges of my tri fold and use tape and hot glue to make it malleable, but sturdy. All the flaps on the board game fold backwards to reveal a central image that reads “LEED worthy”.

Another difficulty that I came across was keeping the pigment from smudging on the board. Because paint was hard to control when it came to straight lines, I had to use markers to fill in shapes. The base of the cardboard was sealed with white spray paint, so naturally markers did not glide on easily with an oily base. I had to redo the markers with acrylic paint and use acrylic markers to ensure this did not happen again.

This week, I will be printing out the official rules of the game, the cards, and create the character pieces for each player. I am excited to finish my product and I look forward to making my presentation the best it can be! Here is a picture of the folding pattern that I started with for my board game!
