Week #6 (10/05/20 - 10/09/20):
With the business symposium being the highlight of the week, I was able to connect with FISD professionals and with past and current Independent Study and Mentorship students. The symposium was the most thrilling activity this week for me personally! Though this year’s business symposium was online, I definitely had a great experience interacting with different people there. Here is a picture of me ready to meet professionals, my peers, and teachers at the business symposium. Something else I worked on during this week was my fourth research assessment. It baffles me that I have only done four assessments, yet I have learned and grown from what I had initially started with. I am pleased with my methodological approach of understanding architectural and environmental ideologies leading up to my original work. I read an article this week on the different certification programs and their strengths and weaknesses. I learned that LEED along with BREEAM are some of the top sustainability certifications programs globally; however, there are a couple of weak points that are exhibited by the article I particularly read. More information can be found on my research assessment! Something I am starting to think about on my own is starting up a career club or initiative where students can explore their careers during their time in high school. I have started thinking about the logistics of it, however I do not want it to be a club that blends in with all the others. With many events going on, I want to ensure I give this initiative enough time and thought before half-heartedly pursuing it. I was hoping to get started on the personal branding, which involved the creation of my own logo, however this week was quite a rough patch. My goal for next week is to definitely have a potential logo draft to add to my website without fail. With this, I am ecstatic to meet Ms.Sharma, a sustainability consultant in California, on Tuesday 10/13.
